Since the spring of 2023 in collaboration with The Dwelling Church, Authoring Action has developed authors among our community’s unhoused and housing insecure citizens.
Supported by Forsyth County ARPA funds through the WS Arts Council (23/24), WS Arts Council Arts for Everybody Grant, (2025) along with the Moravian Ministries Foundation, First Baptist Church on Fifth and individuals in our community.

Authoring Action Voices from the Dwelling 2025 summer spokenword and live music Retrospective
Join us Monday April 20th at 5pm at Hanesbrands Theatre for the premiere screening of the documentary The Dwellers. The feature film follows 8 housing-challenged members from The Dwelling faith congregation in Winston-Salem, NC as they participate in a unique process with local non-profit, Authoring Action. Utilizing art, music, and creative writing, the Authoring Action program challenges and supports participants in sharing their stories - providing a powerful glimpse into their lives as they prep for a special public engagement with the greater W-S community.
