Authors will engage at the Know Her Truths Conference at Wake Forest University

--

The Anna Julia Cooper Center of Wake Forest University is hosting the second bi-annual Know Her Truths national conference addressing the lives of women and girls of color. Know Her Truths 2018 will take place March 22 and 23 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on the campus of Wake Forest University and will be a two-day exploration of three truths central to the lives of women and girls of color. Truth 1: She Survives Systems Truth 2: She Transcends Binaries Truth 3: She Lead and Liberates Truth 4: She Questions and Reveals Conference participants will explore each truth in three ways (1) a panel of local or national experts offering insight and engaging with the conference participants; (2) a “nothing about us without us” session where an action agenda is offered by stakeholders most affected by an issue area and (3) a conversation between nationally recognized thought leaders on these issues. Know Her Truths 2018 will also have embedded opportunities for artistic expression, direct civic/political action, and participatory journalism.
