Fall/Spring Sessions
September 2022 - June, 2023
Just Us is our filmmaking program for authors brought to us through court referrals, WSFCS, DSS, and community agencies, either as a preventative measure or as mandated participation. Authoring Action is an official agency of the Forsyth County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council.
At the end of each session, films are screened at a/perture cinema in downtown Winston-Salem, NC at an event attended by community and family members, as well as personnel from the court.
Summer Intensives
2022 Dates
June 26 - July 30, 2022
8:30-4:30 Monday - Friday
A five-week full day intensive featuring Authoring Action’s Creative Writing Process, Script development, and work with collaborating artists and mentors to develop a full stage show at Hanesbrands Theater July 28, 29 and 30th.
Weeks 1 & 2 Bethabara Moravian Weeks 3 & 4 First on Fifth, Week 5 - Production week at Hanesbrands Theater
After School Advanced Writing
& Outreach Ensemble
Begin in September
Tuesdays 5-7pm
Some Saturdays for fun fellowship and rehearsals
Alumni of the Authoring Action Summer Intensive become members of the Assegai Outreach Ensemble.
Through continued year round training, teen authors hone their skills, build their body of original work, and further explore publishing forums and the art of adaptation of writing for stage, design, and film forums.

Costs & Sponsorship
Year-Round Program Cost: $2,500
Financial assistance is available.
We encourage applicants with financial need to ask friends, family, church, or other organizations to sponsor or help to sponsor their year by becoming a financial supporter.
Donations are tax-deductible. Authoring Action is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
