Delta Arts Center's Freedom Day Celebration

Authoring Action’s Outreach Ensemble has been invited to engage at the Delta Arts Center’s Freedom Day - Celebrating the 29th Anniversary of Nelson Mandela’s release from prison. On February 11, 1990, Mandela left Victor Verster prison, a jail in the Cape Winelands town of Paarl, outside of Cape Town. Mandela spent the last two years of his prison sentence there.

Upon his release, Mandela entered Cape Town triumphantly, accompanied by his former wife Winnie Mandela and members of the African National Congress. The occasion marked the first time Mandela addressed South Africans after 27 years in prison for opposing apartheid.with their recently-authored works on resilience. Make plans to attend and be inspired.

Authoring Action teen authors will deliver recent works on Resilience.

Just Us Graduation

Just Us Graduation

“Just Us” is an intensive program developed by Authoring Action at the request of the Forsyth County Juvenile Justice Council.  In its sixth year, “Just Us” serves court-ordered/referred, at-risk youth throughout 3 intensive sessions – Summer Intensive, Fall Intensive, and Winter-Spring Intensive.

At the "Just Us" graduation, program participants will show their original films, followed by a Q&A session with the teens and faculty.
