InterMedia FREYA BJÖRG OLAFSON
Winston-Salem, July 19, 2010--Authoring Action is pleased to partner with the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, the Center for Design Innovation and InterMedia artist Freya Björg Olafson (http://www.freyaolafson.com) to present the exciting Inside Out Classroom See and Be Scene workshop.
The vast social network of blogging, posting, tweeting, video snacking, and status updates has forever changed how individuals organize and project their identity to the world. During this week-long workshop Olafson will guide 2010 Authoring Action Summer Institute participants in an exploration of identity in the 21st century.
Through writing, performative actions, media sampling, and other exercises, students will explore what it means to see and be seen at the intersection of virtual, social and physical realities. In the process, they can better learn how to harness the potential of new media and social networks for creative expression.
