Become a Title Sponsor

We call it “Title” because Authoring Action works year-round to bring the writing of youth to life and turn them into positive action in the community around us. Your support will play a key role in helping us achieve our goals and ultimately will help shape the lives of youth in Winston-Salem. We will limit our Title Sponsorships in 2011/2012 on these two premier projects – our very own “title projects” - to just four local corporate partners or individuals who be highlighted in a number of special ways for their leadership role in these programs. These two primary events include:

Taste of the South – November 17, 2011

Hundreds will gather to enjoy the very best in Southern cuisine by some of our city’s best chefs, North Carolina wines, and live Southern music at the Milton Rhodes Center  in downtown Winston-Salem.  This event will take place during the Art’s Council’s “Six Days in November” highlighting our city’s arts and innovation.

Authoring Action’s Foundation Formula ~ Summer Intensive and Advanced Writing Workshops – Fall and Spring 2012

The World Can Change…With Just One Word.  The Authoring Action formula begins with a five-week intensive opportunity for youth to work collaboratively with their peers, adults, mentors and professional writers and artists in filmmaking and other disciplines to develop original written work from life stories and societal predicaments for a culminating community outreach production.   

The Advanced Writing Workshops fortify youth to build on the basic summer intensive in order to write to assignment for engagements in the community and around the state.   Youth engage in research and discussion around critical social issues, learn to think critically and to articulate their point of view, develop their ability to engage in the community, along with leadership skills.
